Information for Buyers and Sellers.

Property owners, livestock farmers, butchers, breeders and new entrants into the market looking to purchase or trade in property and livestock have to comply with a number of important rules and conditions.

Animal husbandry is a highly sophisticated business controlled by state veterinary laws to international standards. Abbatoirs and butcheries, restauranteurs and meat markets all have to protect consumers.

Badenhorst Auctioneers have been in the business for over 60 years and are committed to ensure animals are treated humanely and with respect for their vital role that they play in our economy.

We accept responsibility for ensuring our customers and clients all work within the law in the interest of public health and financial security. From the smallest owner to the largest corporate we try our best to build a trusted relationship with each and every individual that attends our auctions.

Our investment in the latest equipment and facilities is designed to make the auction event a pleasurable and profitable one. On occasion the Cattle auction has run continuously for up to 9 hours. Vehicles have to be unloaded, loaded and managed to a strict schedule to ensure a smooth logistical flow. Badenhorst on site facilities include a  rustic restaurant that produces fresh homemade meals and refreshments courtesy of our community from breakfast through lunch. Our management and administration staff work with the latest accounting and data management software to ensure accuracy in all financial transactions. Our field personnel are trained to handle livestock with care to avoid trauma and injury.

We regard our customers as friends and colleagues - Give us a call we would love to meet you!

The weekly Wednesday auction of Livestock in Belfast is at the heart of our business. Sellers can bring their livestock as early as 6am and we will accomodate them in pens with water.

It is important for sellers to ensure they have the necessary documentation for identification and proof of ownership on arrival. Sellers will be allocated a pen number at our discretion based on time of arrival, loyalty and turnover.

The Auction commences with the ring of the bell at 10h00 starting with the goats, followed by the pigs at 11h00, sheep at 11h30 and cattle at 13h00.

Immediately on the fall of the hammer, the invoices are generated and settlement is facilitated. On settlement, buyers are provided with a removal certificate and the state vet provides all necessary permits.

Farming Implements, Equipment and Moveable assets.

We regularly facilitate our customers with an on site Auction of moveable assets throughout Mpumalanga. Our team is geared up to handle a variety of circumstances from 100 to 600 lots, from scrap metal to high tech farming equipment.

To ensure proper marketing of these clearance sales we require your instructions at least 6 weeks prior to the auction. We will arrange the marketing efforts and collateral on your behalf to our database of buyers. Our Team will gladly assist with the sorting and numbering of the lots.

On the date of auction, our buyers should have their identity documents, proof of residence available on registration.
